eventful, it was...

Wow. Perfect perfect middle of the week. Let's do this chronologically, okay?

Wednesday night. Previewing of Mr and Mrs Smith. Nice. Got the tickets from the MixFM Roadrunners crew. Some childlike game, I think I mentioned. Anyways, went there with Evon. Nice movie, a tad violent and over-sexed for the kids that somehow got in. And this kid was crying and crying. Thank God that we HAD to sit in front. The noise wasn't so obvious. Quite humurous little movie. A bit sadistic. Way cool.

Yesterday. Prom! ICPU Prom was in Sheraton. I'm sure you know what Sheraton looks like. Sheraton Subang. If you don't, go and take a look at it yourself. I forgot to take a pic of the outside. Mehness. Anyways, pics you'll get plenty of: (Warning. If your internet speed is slow, then you'll probably get pretty frustrated. About 16 photos I think. Mehness.) Oh. Also, read the captions.

Anyways, let's start with me. Yes, me. Obviously me. Here's me and an eville smirk at the prom place:
Looks a bit horny, eh?
Then there's also my prom date:
Sexy thing, she is.
So then we went in, and there wasn't anyone. Then the crowd started to build up. Too lazy to load that photo. Anyways, we went in to get a shot at the 200 bucks offered as an early bird prize. I was just passing Wen her ticket stub, as a momento, when they called out the winning number. Yup, it was her number. Haha. So there really is such thing as luck. Lolz. She was in a slight state of shock/disbelief for some time after getting it. Ironic thing about it was, she wasn't from ICPU, and not even from Taylor's. Not even remotely.

Our dining fellows joined us soon.
This was taken AFTER dinner.
And of course, the other two CHS-ers:
PokX edging in on the photography.
Adam looks so sweet in this picture. Aww. Gayness.

The rest of the hall soon filled, though there were a few empty tables left. Sad. Such a waste.
Old People. Meh.

There were a few interesting tables. One, the VIP table, filled with lecturers and spouses/other people.
Old-er People, but still cool. Mwahahaha.
Another was Amanda's table, don't ask me why. Oh, right. It's because I'm too lazy to send the actual photo to her, so she can just copy it from here. Meh.
Err, right at the back. Amanda and 'companion'.
And also this, Yan Ling took. Who are these people?
Yeah, eye candy for you guys who get bored easily. Meh.
Our emcees were just absurd. Take a look:
I like to move it, move it!
We had some interesting events, I suppose. Like, the choosing of the Prom Royalty. The would-be King had to impress the would-be Queen to clinch the title. Here's an example of:
Mr and Mrs Bombastic!
Of course, the photographer got shot too:
Ms Karen and Ms Shalini getting on the action too!
The official ending of the prom was something akin to clubbing:
Honestly, this was really just to appease those who wanted to do this in Zouk.
Nice lights, though.
It was just hard to resist the rose play!
Spanish lovers. Mwahahah.
And a very nice way to end the evening, no?
Ehehe. Me like.

Aih. Was a tiring night, it was. And the attempts to find an open Coffee Bean was quite, er, vain. At any rate, it's not something I'm likely to forget soon. Was great. Now the only problem is how to ever get my parents to stop nagging on getting back before 12. Meh.

aiyor...

Seeing as how today's already Tuesday, and my holiday officially started yesterday at 11 am, I guess I should update. Mehness. I haven't felt like blogging, cuz I've been reading some really great blogs, and I realise how boring my style is. Perhaps I should do some really sprightly pics, do funny captions, stuff like that, maybe a comic. Wait lar. Maybe tomorrow can. Sending this retarded computer for an absolutely complete makeover. Finally Dad decided to use it after a month, realised how retardedly slow this machine is. But I still would rather have fixed it myself.

Funny thing happened on Sunday. I think it was Sunday. I can't remember if it was. I have terrible memory issues. Yeah. I think it is. Anyways, is just so happens that we were passing by the big SS 18 field. The MixFM Roadrunner crew wuz there, and they were playing some silly games. Basically, I was pushed into playing those silly games with them. Something reminiscent of kindergarten games, kinda like those Simon says games. Whatever it was, I guessed I proved myself the most childish by winning. Got me a pair of tickets to the premier to Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Haha. Tomorrow night. And it's only gonna be released on Thursday! Mwahaha. Gonna take Wen there, hope she don't get too many ideas and try them on me.

I should keep a notepad with me. Yeah. I have so many interesting thoughts throughout the day, but I never remember them long enough to write them. Mehness. I got a new camera bag. Real spiffy. Now I can carry my camera around without risking scratch. Mwahaha. Also, got some new clothes, namely long cargoes to replace the ones that I've shrunk too small for, and new undies! Wakaka. Strange thing was they fit the first time. Usually when I try a new brand, I'll have to go back and get a larger fit. Wow. I'm really really small-ish now. No wisecracks. THAT hasn't shrunk, the fat ass has. The front is perfectly fine, thankyou.

Wonderfulness. I just forgot something I was about to say. Wait. Nothing else to say. Mehness.

void with a manhole cover...

This was going to be a happy post. But it's not. I don't even know why I'm feeling this way. Normally I'd be fine. I've been taking it for years. Lately, I don't seem to have any emotional strength at all. Ah. Wen, see what you did to me? Mwahaha. Cold laughter. Hot tears pool on my face. I'd taste them, but they evaporate the moment they appear. They burn.

My mom's a technophobe. Everything new is unnecessary. Which is probably true. Then again, education is also unnecessary, given that all of us can survive with whatever we're given at birth. But human greed created the need for knowledge, which in turn caused tech to expand at an insane rate. We keep up with education. What's so different with tech?

All I asked for was to get this fucked up machine working. Is that too much to ask? Everything I do is taken as a selfish action. Wanting to fix a stupid machine that isn't even mine to begin with is selfish? Maybe I am. Whatever. Then when I said I would do it myself, I'm fucking accused of being arrogant. Yeah. You know what, I am. Don't need to rub it in. I know how pathetically useless I am as a child. I know how much you sacrificed to get me to this stage only to discover that it has come to nothing. All you got was a fat, selfish, ugly, stupid, arrogant, pile of crap. Everything I do is aimed to pleasing my infinite wants, and does not take into account of other people. How perfect.

A void with a manhole cover. That's what I am. Manhole cover hid the nature of myself from everyone. It seems that I was this flat and well lit road, decorated with the cheery lights you see on Subang roads that are actually a waste of taxpayers money. Actually, I'm not. I'm the all consuming void, emptiness even though you may dump the universe. None productive, a total waste. Full of crap, and yet so empty. Ahh.

No, my parents aren't bad. They're not even remotely tainted. It's me me me. How else to explain why my siblings are so happy and joyful outside? They're so perfect, what every parent would want: study study, panic during exams, work their ass off, and even though they badmouth my parents behind their backs, they usually keep the smiling face. Usually. So normal. So, perfect. And me? Haha. An embarassing pile of crap that shows their only failure as parents. Indeed, they did fail. The question being why do they seem to enjoy parading their failure? Maybe it's because of the spectacular magnitude of said failure. Like how people tumpet how bad they were at so many things. Ah. False humility. How nice.

It's all about the money. My mom always brings up the money. How my dad would buy everything I wanted, and how I'd never be satisfied. He'd never buy anything for himself. Nope. He waited an insane amount of time before getting his camera. I know what. I'll give back the D70 to Dad. Yes. I have no need of it. I'm too stupid. And arrogant. And undeserving of it. Yes. I seriously wonder why they kept me around. Didn't they ever hear of abortion? That would have been the perfect remedy. Even murder right now would be wonderful, because I'm certainly not going to kill myself. Why, that would be selfish, wouldn't it? Indeed. And we don't want to add to my already selfish self. No no no no.

I have a few options. First, get a job, earn my own money, move out of the house, fade into obscurity, then die. Next, get a job, buy/fix the computer, forget all this, and then die. Or fix the computer now, then die. Or just die. Yeah. The real problem here is how to die. Did consider it many times. All methods are impractical. Very.

All this rage and fury over a simple fixing the computer thing, ain't it sad? It's much deeper than that. It's the way that I've been targeted as the reason for my dad not getting so many of the things he's worked for. Like how he never buys anything for himself. How he waits for a sale before buying clothes. How he gave up so much things for me. Then how my mom gave up her job to raise me. How many things she could have done if she didn't have kids. And somehow, everytime she says "you kids", I somehow get the shot. I never asked to be born, thankyou very much. In fact, I'd rather I never was. I'm sure regular readers know this already. I'd have saved a lot of people a lot of heartache. A lot of anguish. And most importantly, a lot of money. It's always about the money. No matter how freely they get me stuff, they always hang that over my head. It's always the money. Money money money.

I truly wish I'd never been born. Right now more so than any other time. Why? Haven't contributed to anything. All my teachers would probably have had a better time not reading all my nonsensical work. All my friends would have been that less corrupted, a lot more pleasant, a lot less embarassed, a lot less depressed. My family would never have had this ugly black sheep with no credentials, big big self esteem issue, expensive to upkeep, embarassing to introduce, and annoying to behold. I would have saved Wen from a whole lot of pain, suffering heartache. What little I have given her would have been easily supplied by another. And the money. Oh the money. A short mental calculation shows that I've easily caused about a 35% deficit in the family income over the past 18 ++ years. How much does that work out to? A freaking lot. Enough to buy another house! And we all know how the value of real estate only increases, and since I'm worthless, it makes more sense to buy the house, no? Too late. I'm already here.

Kim said I'd be hurting many people like this. I know. But somehow, I can't seem to care. This is as good a time to make everyone hate me as much as any. The only thing is they always seem to hide the hate behind concern, even though they'd rather kill me, societal norms keep them from doing so. If you get angry at this, wonderful. I ask you to act on that anger. Kill me. Injure me. Whatever. Wen, if you read this, don't try to console me. I'm not sad. I'm seeing the world through a bloodstained mirror. No rose colored glasses for me. I wear contacts.

I have no reason to be angry, truth be told. I'm sure you'd have noticed. Maybe I should just seek a practical solution to this. Anyone have a good secondhand computer to sell? I need one of my own. This machine has caused enough pain and suffering as it has. I don't see why it should. Yeah. Anger subsiding. Replaced by brooding. The problem with my anger is that it doesn't last long enough to write an interesting post. Fuck.

I need Wen. Close. But I thank God that she's not here. I'd probably have done something to injure her. When I'm angry, it's safer not to stand too close to me. I may be a gentle giant, but gentle people are cold blooded murderers when angry. And being a giant of sorts does nothing to soothe that fact. Wen, I love you. Which is why I only want you to have the best. Why do you keep me around? What do I have that you need so desperately that you would be anywhere close? Anger gone, painful questioning comes. Sob.

distance...

What is distance? Let us allow a definition of many sorts. First is literal distance. Distance of the physical sort. Very far away, or very near. The great abundance of distance, or the severe lack of it. This type of distance is very practical in application. Namely, people use it to keep undesirable stuff from them, people use it to make money by transporting a whole crapload of people/animals/inanimate objects across said distance, because other people would find it inconvenient to do so. There's a branch of science, namely quantum physics, that deals with packets of energy and how they transverse space in amounts of time approaching zero, also known as teleportation. Very interesting is teleportation. Here's a short aside on the practical application of teleportation:

Teleportation is based on the concept of instantly transferring matter from point A to point B, without crossing the area between the two. The most practical way of doing this is to destroy the original, and produce an exact copy at the destination at the same precise moment. Or, it could be a literal transmuting of matter into energy and then back into matter again, and since energy in this form would travel at the speed of light, it would make travel over insane distances very practical. The only problems would involve the placing of the receiver on the other end, and the dissipation of the energy. Imagine, you could reach the other end missing your head. Coolness. If we follow the concept of destroying the original and creating an exact copy, the applications are even more infinite. Hell, we could skip the destroying part and just continue creating copies. That would equate infinite resources. Since the only way to really recreate an exact copy is to do it with subatomic particles to make all permutations of elements possible, that means you can just continue making copies. The only problem here being the immense amount of energy required to do so. Teleportation in general would also make humans immortal, at least where age is concerned. Since it is a reconstruction of the original, that means some sort of software or program would need to be designed to rebuild the original. By altering the information, we can basically edit out any medical flaws in a person. This would make surgery of any sort possible, as well as imagine the infinite fixes we could do with our physical appearance. Murder would also be very easy and untracable. Just teleport the guy's head to Timbuktu!

Back to topic, distance is useful. Very. It makes the heart grow fonder. It takes us away from our troubles. It makes so many things seem desirable out of context. It can also hurt. Like being very far from the one you love. Like seperating you from your goal. Like tearing apart that which was not meant to be placed at a great distance. My physical distance with Evon is a serious serious issue. Like, we hardly see each other enough given the very full schedules. That alone would have kept a suitable distance. Given now that I don't have a car, and borrowing one is extremely troublesome, the physical seperation is quite an obstacle. Of course, we make up for this by being extremely close to each other when in contact, like give about 10-7 m away from each other. Not even light gets trough the gap, lolz.

The next type of distance is emotional/social distance. They're not exactly the same, true, but they're similar in execution. This is the metaphorical closeness between people. Common sense tells that the closer you are to a person, the better your relationship with that person, and vice versa. However, this is not necessarily true. You may be close to a person, but your relationship could be like crap. I'd describe closeness as a measure of familiarity rather than relatioship status. This one I have felt mostly the bad side of, although I have never really seen why. I haven't really had a bad life, but somehow it was just bleak, at least where my interactions with individuals of the same species are concerned. I never really realised it at all during my younger days, but I noticed the full scale of it after the fact. I'd say it's improving significantly now, but it's not really good compared to the universal golden standard. Maybe it's just that some people are built to be loners.

This has been one long crapload of nonsensical crap. For the sake of writing something, maybe, I don't know. My writing has been on a downward spiral. And this is the only thing that I've got going for me. Is it a sign of the end? Who knows. It could be a new beginning. Or not.

tortured through...

Nah. It's almost over. Three down, one to go. English, done. Physics, done. Data, done. Only Calculus to go. For many, the moment they step out of the exam room, that's the last they'll see of their lecturer. For me, not so. For two reasons. First, I'll be back next semester. Another thing is that I'll be taking the staff photos for Thursday. Last chance to connect with those lecturers that are leaving. It's kinda touching, that is, if I had a heart. Mwahaha. Anyways, it's good to know that I'm appreciated by the public, at least to some extent.

Don't you just hate it when you have so much to write, and actually sit down to write it, and suddenly it's gone? Yeah. Same thing here. The only problem is that it comes back slowly, and usually not in logical order. So when the writing comes out, it rarely makes sense. Oh joy. Confusion makes the utmost sense.

Evon has been having a tough week. As far as I know that is. At any rate, it makes me feel quite useless to not be able to sooth her at all. All I can do is be far away and send messages that don't make any sense at all in an attempt to make her feel better, but inadvertantly end up not answering her calls for like 6 hours (twice in the same day, sob), and not replying messages for so long and making her really pissed at me. Argh. I'm so worthless. But that was two days ago. So happy she's not pissed at me anymore. I really hate making her angry.

I wish I had more interesting and intelligent things to write. Even ranting would make sense. Like, seriously. People like reading stuff like that, don't they? Okay, lemme see what I can think up. I had this really good real life ranting session yesterday, but I don't recall what I said. I do remember it was hilarious. Hmm. Nothing's coming.

The lack of doing anything interesting is eating away at my creativity. I blame everyone else, lolz. But then again, don't I always? Sigh. I need to do something interesting to write about. Haven't even seen anything really remotely interesting in the past few hours to write about. Argh.

really useful...

Orgasms at the push of a button
Electronic implants could help women who can't orgasm

American scientists have discovered they can create orgasms in women at the touch of a button.

Clinical trials into the new electronic implants are expected to start in the United States later this year.

But Stuart Meloy, a pain relief surgeon at Piedmont Anesthesia and Pain Consultants in North Carolina, said his discovery had been a complete chance.

Dr Meloy was performing a routine pain-relief operation on a woman's spine when he made the breakthrough.

"We implant electrodes into the spine and use electrical pulses to modify the pain signals passing along the nerves," he said.

Dr Meloy told New Scientist magazine that patients remained conscious throughout the procedure to help the surgeons decide where best to place the electrodes to maximise pain relief.

His discovery came when he failed to hit the right pain-relief spot for a patient.

"I was placing the electrodes and suddenly the woman started exclaiming emphatically," he said. "I asked her what was up and she said, 'You're going to have to teach my husband to do that.'"

Dr Meloy said the stimulating wires could be connected to a signal generator, smaller than a packet of cigarettes, which could be put under the patient's buttocks.

The patient would then be given a hand control to trigger the orgasms. But Dr Meloy said he envisaged the device only being used in the most extreme of cases, to help couples blighted by orgasmic dysfunction.

"If you've got a couple who have been together for a while and it is just not happening any more, maybe they'll get through it a bit easier with this," he said.

Dr Meloy added though that the device would need to be programmed to limit its use.

"But whether it's once a day, four times a week - who am I to say," he said.

Jim Pfaus, who studies the neurobiology of sexual behaviour at Concordia University in Montreal, Canada, said he thought there would be a big demand for the new device despite the fact that it involved surgery.

"If young women of 15 or so are having painful operations to enlarge their breasts when they don't have to, are you kidding? Of course it'll be used," he said.

But Julie Cole, a psychosexual therapist and consultant with the UK relationship counselling service Relate, said it was vital the underlying causes for a patient's problems were studied.

She said the new device could have a role for certain groups such as some disabled patients with orgasm problems, but said she remained unconvinced.

"We could see a role for it for people with disability, but I am not convinced about whether it is absolutely necessary," she said.

She added that some women might clutch at this device as a quick fix for their sex problems rather than looking at the psychological problems causing them.

there was once...

... a sad sad man. He was actually more of a boy than a man, were it not for his age, he would be considered so. Many years back, people always mentioned how mature his speech and thought were. They said that he was visionary for his age, that many adults would not even begin to think like he did. And now, after passing that treshold that seperated the boys from the men, all they could say was how immature and irresponsible he was.

He was confused. Why tell him one thing, and another later? Had he changed? Perhaps. Had he improved? Apparently not. Maybe all that telling him he was mature made him arrogant, made him regress. Perhaps, it was only then that he appeared mature, in comparison to his age. Perhaps, thinking in that manner now would no longer be considered grown up. Perhaps even, that they expected him to continue to improve, be beyond what he was. Or perhaps, they were all lies.

He had been lonely all his life. He was surrounded by people, true, which was probably why he did not notice how lonesome he actually was. He had friends, but how many were true? He had family, a large extended one, with a painted air of perfection, nice people with little or no malice, but how much did they mock him behind his back? He did not think such things, 'mature' as he was then. Rather, he would take things at face value. Then he walked that line, he saw for himself how false it had all been. Lonely yet he was, lonely yet he'll remain.

Theirs was a chance encounter, him and her. It was quite improbable. In fact, nearly impossible. Seeing now, they had met before, he a customer, her a sales promoter, but they did not register. No, indeed, it was chance encounter that they met at all. It could be said that it was love at first sight, had it really been first sight. Accurately, it was love at second sight, although the first time didn't really count. At any rate, they quickly paired up on the strangest of circumstances. It didn't matter, because he was finally not alone.

The growing dependence on her dawned on him one day. Was it dangerous? He had no idea. This was his first romance, after his many brushes with it, some down a dark and forsaken road, but those secrets are locked to all but a few who cared to know. He was concerned, yes, but he was soon to have that shocked even closer to his core. The news was biting, uncertain as it was. She'd might have to leave soon. Or not at all. It was not certain, but it was almost decided. To leave him for a dream, he would not stand in her way. How could he? Love had been his butterfly: he had tried hard not to crush it holding too tightly, and also not let it fly away letting it loose. But here was the killer, that it might end so soon. Still, the utter calm in him was as scary as it was a relief.

He had almost died, many times, at least in his own mind. He was a survivor, but he would rather have not been so. Many times the oppurtunity presented himself. The coward in him would not permit it. He told her about those, and many others besides. Many nodded their heads in agreement, but condemned him inside as an attention seeking moron. He could not entirely disagree with them, he often wondered why he bothered, seeing how no one else ever shared things that close to the heart.

He never was normal. Yeah, abnormal would be one way to describe him, weird being the other. Differences in him would probably explain why the 'grown ups' called him mature. He thought about things in ways so weird as to confound Jung and Freud into insanity. His physical appearances added to the weirdness. Imagine an overgrown bulbous papaya scarred by tunneling nematodes. Add limbs, and a downright disgusting pallour and you wouldn't be far from it. Friends he had, how many understood him? Why did they stick around him? Common interests? Perhaps, strange at it may sound. How many common things could you have with someone so weird. Maybe it was because of material possesions? Unlikely, he was not rich. If anything, it was definitely his mind. They only wanted his intelligence. His only possession worth having.

Nothing much has changed since. A broken heart, a broken mind, a broken soul. Nope, nothing had changed. Sure, he now looked presentable, at least in relation to the past, but nothing much. The friends of his showed their concern, at least if they were fake, they were good at it. But soon they would all be seperate, their paths lay elsewhere. He would have to find others to replace them.

He did find another, and a few besides. This other brought to an interesting occurance that brought her to him. He was grateful for that at least. But he also silently cursed the fact that he will also be probably the first to break her heart. Angry as he was with the world, with people, his cold heart melted when she was in the picture. He would destroy the world and rebuild it to more interesting and better functioning proportions, all if so she would like it done. He would do much for her, indeed, but how much?

Many times as he wrote as others read, he wondered, how much of this 'truth' he wove did he really believe? Sometimes, he believed all of it, sometimes he wished he never did write them. A world woven of truth and lies, so tightly bound that both became one and the same, not making the slightest difference. His thoughts no longer made any sense. Sometimes, a semblance of normalcy came over him, and all was well. Most of the time, he noticed the black room each of us have built around ourselves, with only a rose colored window to the world. All deceit.

In the end, he wonders how much truth is there in the world. All hide behind a mask, all for the peace of everything. Is this peace worth it, if we scarifice the very reason we have it at all? How much does she hide from him? How much does he keep from her? That dark abbyss that he has visited many times seems ever more tempting now. He begins making plans for a permanent stay.
